The building is in fact the former headquarters of the <strong>British Linen Bank<\/strong>, converted into a pub and hotel. The <strong>9 rooms<\/strong> are spread over three floors. They combine modern comfort with traditional charm.   <\/p>\n\n<p>The ground-floor pub, with its industrial design elements and neon lights, has direct access to the Royal Mile. We loved the <strong>authentic charm<\/strong> of this traditional townhouse. A personal code is used to guarantee security and confidentiality. Its <strong>75 elegant apartments<\/strong> offer all the services of an upscale hotel while preserving the intimacy of home. The sandstone fa\u00e7ade is itself a landmark of the old town.  <\/p>\n\n<p>We particularly liked the convenient laundry service and the well-equipped gym. House of Gods Hotel<\/h2>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Scotland\/Edinburgh\/Hotels\/House-of-Gods-Royal-Mile\/i-s3L553t\/0\/Nd5nL4gpL4wQdzjjWXLSZzs7zpkDb9kVBtCLmLz3p\/L\/hotel-house-gods-edinburgh-lobby-L.jpg\" alt=\"House of Gods Hotel - lobby\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why stay there?<\/h3>\n\n<p>On a street just off the Royal Mile, the<strong>House of Gods Hotel<\/strong> resembles a nightclub, with its <strong>neon lights<\/strong>, dark wood panelling and thick <strong>crimson velvet curtains<\/strong>. Walk through the <strong>dimly lit<\/strong> bar to the reception area, housed in an alcove like a checkroom. This is the entrance to the rooms. A very private club atmosphere!   <\/p>\n\n<p>We had booked a <em>Cabin<\/em>, a tiny room fitted out like a <strong>ship&#8217;s cabin<\/strong>. Again, red velvet, tapestries and subdued lighting&#8230; It&#8217;s great fun for a <strong>romantic night out<\/strong>, but if you&#8217;re staying longer, you&#8217;d be better off in a classic room or suite, as it&#8217;s less cramped.
