Is the Eleven Stafford St Townhouse Hotel worth it? Our review
It’s a very pleasant, quiet boutique hotel, slightly outside the hustle and bustle of the city center. We consider it one of Edinburgh’s finest hotels because of its warm ambience and ideal location. Located close to Old Town and New Town, the hotel is perfect for exploring sights such asEdinburgh Castle or the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. If you’re looking for a peaceful and comfortable stay in Edinburgh, the Eleven Stafford Street Townhouse Hotel is an excellent choice.

Decoration and atmosphere
We really liked the hotel’s decor. It plays with the classic charm of this old, traditional house and gives it a modern twist, with a very contemporary mix of colors and patterns. Each room is unique. You’ll find vintage furniture and restored details (cornices, rosettes) with all the necessary comforts. The whole is refined, elegant and peaceful.

The room
Our room was located in the basementon Stafford Street. It’s not a very busy street and the soundproofing ensured a very quiet night. The room was spacious, decorated in the Pondicherry style. The wallpaper depicted the gardens of an Indian palace, in an elegant toile de Jouy pattern.

The ambience of the room was both refined and warm. The mix of patterns and colors created an interesting contrast and added an exotic touch to the room. We found a kettle, a De Longhi coffee machine and chocolates. The crockery we found was what you’d expect to find in an English tearoom, also in vintage style.

The bathroom
The bathroom was a little small but practical. It featured a shower, washbasin and toilet. TheAsian-styledecoration formed a surprising but chic blend with that of the bedroom.

We found hygiene products from the hotel’s own brand, ELEVEN Stafford Street Edinburgh, handmade in Scotland. A bathrobe was also available.
